Machine Operators

Operate and tend machines and use hand tools for purposes of producing, moving, and trimming raw stone and finished stone products. Lift/carry product by hand. Count/stack/sort materials on pallets for packaging and shipping. The workers will operate various stone-cutting machines that cut and shape stone. They will use hydraulic guillotine cutters, stone saws, drills, hammers, jackhammers, hand tools, and splitting wedges to shape the stone until it is ready for palletization. Lift and carry product by hand. In some instances, the workers will use controls to operate machinery to move stone for other workers to shape. ***RFI response*** Workers in the occupation are expected to utilize the following types of machinery and tools: 1. Feed stock into cutting machines, onto conveyors, or under cutting blades, by threading, guiding, pushing, or turning handwheels. 2. Move stock or scrap to and from machines manually, or by using carts, hand trucks, or lift trucks. 3. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists. 4. Transfer finished products, raw materials, tools, or equipment between storage and work areas of plants and warehouses, by hand or using hand trucks or powered lift trucks.

Must lift/carry 100 lbs., when necessary. Saturday work required, when necessary. Post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
